Some Splendid Things »
One very quick post to show that this blog isn’t dead yet. Though it may disappear for a bit, because I forgot to renew the domain name.
Munich is very good.
Equally good, perhaps even better, is that the House of Lords’ amendments to David Blunkett’s Religious Hatred Bill have been passed by the Commons. What, David Blunkett responsible for drafting an authoritarian, ill-thought out piece of crap? Not the David Blunkett who bravely made Sheffield nuclear-free, squandered £60M on an online university when we had the OU, and denied fast-tracking a passport. Could he be even more of an incompetent buffoon? Apparently so.
Not so good, today the 100th British soldier died in Iraq. British troops have a much better survival rate than our American allies, perhaps because our forces are professional (and not composed of reservists) and actually have decent armour. It’s just a thought. I can’t imagine Donald “A dollar saved is a dollar earned” Rumsfeld is all that bothered. After all he saved a few dollars and if some men died, it’s not like they’re people he actually knew. Still some commenter on Harry’s Place said that our boys don’t like these statistics even being mentioned. Gives comfort to the enemy apparently. Well, if they feel that strongly, maybe they could try dying less often and then the media wouldn’t have a story would they?
Oh yeah. Must. Be. Less. Sarcastic. And rewrite the flipping code.
